This freedom to tell the story – the Greatest Story Ever Told – is what is at risk.
We must tell it now while we can.
And if we lose this battle against a temporary triumph of evil at this small moment of eternity, we must continue to tell The Story into the future whatever comes our way.
But I didn’t know how bad it was. I didn’t know that there was such a differences in good and evil in our political parties.
I had no idea that legalising homosexual marriage could have such a dramatic effect on personal liberties and freedom of speech.
We are at war. We have been in Pearl Harbour and we have been asleep, Darwin has been bombed, and now we are in the Battle of the Coral Sea. This battle will shape – as it did – the future of Australia. Australia is at risk in a way it has never been before. These issues we have talked about transcend all other issues. Today we have choices – choices at the ballot box and a choice with the marriage plebiscite – and they are choices that each of us must make before God.

I trust and pray that as we inevitably face increasing persecution for our children and their children that you will not look back with regret on 2016 with a sense of failure that you were not awake, that you did not do enough and that you made wrong choices.
So the drama is played out: broken trust; intrigue; deceit; anything but the truth; danger and condemnation for its revealing; opposition from industry; the risk of being misunderstood and dividing friends and family and community.
It may be that this battle too may be won with word pictures and visual images and a new generation will thank us and wonder why the truth was withheld for so long.
I watched a movie last night (very unusual but I needed some time out). It was the story of Esther. Not one I would bother watching again but it sheathed home the message “for such a time as this”.

Please look at the link and make the need for prayer known. He has been battered by the press and this will be un-relenting. Physical danger cannot be dismissed. There will, no doubt, be those who report him to Medical Board.

These are matters of great public health importance. As a culture we have glossed over these critical issues for too long and we have been hindered in our message by those who demand the freedom to damage their own health
Losing the fights against destructive embryo research, against abortion (no, we have not lost that yet), against euthanasia or eugenic selection would be tragic and we would be in moral free-fall but losing the fight against same-sex marriage will herald a new age of Christian persecution.
